Religion
Zoroastrianism, was the monotheistic religion practiced by the Persian people. Zoroaster was a prophet that was born in 660 B.C. who's teachings were written down in the sacred book of Zoroastrianism.
Government
Persia was ruled by a king. One of the first kings was Cyrus the Great, he showed much compassion and wisdom for his people. He was a respected ruler. Darius the Great was a king who came after Cyrus. Darius added 20 new Persian provinces also called strapies, each ruled by a satrap. In his time of power he strengthened the Persian government.
Geography
The Persians lived in what is now modern day Southwestern Iran. The empire encompassed approximately 8 million Km. squared spanning across 3 continents, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The Persian climate is very dry and warm with occasional rain in the northern areas.

The Persians are primarily nomadic, they are organized groups until one family managed to unify them.
One of the best ideas which could also be considered an invention was the royal road system. It stretched from Lydia to Susa. They were simply well maintained roads that made it easier for traveling through the empire. Along the way they had stations that provided food, shelter and horses for travelers.
Another idea/invention was the immortals The soldiers were groups of highly trained men. They were called this because their number was never allowed to be under then thousand. When one member was killed he was immediately replaced.

Some brief history ... The Persians were Indo-European people. Babylon fell to the Persians in 539 B.C.. Persia was located in what is now South West Iran. Persia was split into 20 provinces called strapies and ruled by a satrap. Also it was run by a king/ ruler like Cyrus ans Darius.
